A delegation headed by Prof. Jorge L. Diaz-Herrera, the President of Keuka College visited ZWU from March 26th to 27th, and Mr. YING Xiong, the CEO of Zhejiang Wanli Education Group and Ms. QIAN Guo-ying, the vice president of ZWU warmly welcomed the guests. After a thorough discussion about international exchange, both parties found they shared the same education ideology in the talent-cultivation. For instance, both parties highlighted the cultivation of students’ practice ability, especially in the computer application; and both agreed to broaden students’ international views, and to design courses in accordance with the interdisciplinary talent cultivation.
As President Jorge L. Diaz-Herrera stated information technology has changed various aspects in human life and thus only interdisciplinary talents acquiring rich expertise of computer application and humanistic education can adapt to the ever-changing society. Moreover, President Jorge L. Diaz-Herrera had a deep discussion with representatives from the college of Biological & Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Design and Architecture, and Business School concerning the details in the cooperation projects. Mr. YING and Ms. QIAN showed their great admiration for the interdisciplinary talent cultivation model in Keuka College and expressed their views of talent cultivation and international exchange as well.
Keuka College, founded in 1890, is located on Keuka Lake in the Finger Lakes region of New York State with beautiful scenery offering 33 bachelor’s degree programs, 7 master’s degree programs. The students there have 2 months for internship each year as the college is featured with experiential learning and student-centeredness.
