The first “LSCAT Cup” Zhejiang Translation Contest drew to a close recently and six contestants from Foreign Languages College of ZWU participated under the instruction of Ms. WANG Hong-lin and Ms. CHEN Juan. Among them, LI Wei-ying won the first prize and CHENG Jun-wen and LV Hui-min won the second prize in Chinese-English translation for the postgraduates.
The contest was jointly organized by LSCAT from Translators Association of China, Translators Association of Zhejiang, School of International Studies of Zhejiang University that drew nearly 600 contestants from dozens of colleges and universities in Zhejiang province, such as, Zhejiang University, Zhejiang Normal University, and Hangzhou Normal University etc. It aimed to cultivate talents that can offer high-quality language services, to upgrade the entire college English teaching, to promote the disciplinary construction and the prosperity of language service industry and thus to provide powerful support of language services for the national policies, such as, “One-Belt-One-Road, Silk Road Initiative” and the great events, such as Hangzhou Asia Games.
