September 4th witnessed the naming of “Xu Yafen Building” in the University of Nottingham. This is the first time a teaching building has been named after a Chinese woman in the university in 130 years.
At the naming ceremony, Sir David Greenaway, President of Nottingham University introduced to the guests the history of Zhejiang Wanli Education Corporation and the coordination between the two sides. He expressed his gratitude on behalf of Nottingham University to Wanli Corporation for its trust, respect and friendship in the course of cooperation. As President of the Board of Zhejiang Wanli University and Council President of the University of Nottingham in Ning Bo, Xu has contributed a lot to the country’s higher education in providing first-rank international education resources to Chinese students. Besides, the University of Nottingham in Ning Bo was also in an effort to serve the economic development of the country and the friendly communication between UK and China.
