On August 12th, the Ningbo Science and Education meeting was held. The City government decided to reward a group of establishments and people that had contributed toward making science and education boost economic development. Among them, the administration of Yinzhou district and Xu Yafen won the first “Award of Exceptional Contribution to Education” with a bonus of 600,000 RMB respectively. Other honoured guests included Qian Guoying and Yang Xingmin from our University, who were both awarded the first “Award of Education in Service of Local Economy”.
The newly founded “Award of Exceptional Contribution to Education” and “Award of Education in Service of Local Economy” are meant to reward those bodies and individuals that have been concerned for, supportive of and devoted to educational innovations in the city of Ningbo in recent years. The winners of the “Award of Education in Service of Local Economy” are as follows: Professor He Jiaming and Researcher Yan Xiaojun from Ningbo University, Professor Qian Guoying and Researcher Yang Xingmin from Zhejing Wanli University and Researcher Shao Shuangxi from Ningbo Engineering Institute. All of them are people with the responsibility of management and contribute a great deal toward scientific research in their respective fields. In recent years they have achieved a great many things, and have contributed enormously in advancing science and technology, as well as the local economy and development of Ningbo with their scientific inventions and patents
