The Zhejiang Provincial Legislation Expert Pool was formally established on 23rd February. Professor Jie Ming and Professor Yi Ling were engaged as members of the Expert Pool, a sign of the strength of ZWU’s teaching staff.
The Expert Pool is comprised of 64 experts, all from the province’s relevant departments, universities and research institutes, and all selected by the Legal Affairs Working Commission of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress. The Expert Pool assembles renowned scholars in such disciplines as Law, Economics, Politics, sociology and Culture..
The Legal Affairs Working Commission of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress will invite the experts to participate in the drawing up of a five-year Legislation Project Investigation and Research Database, or in the legislation designing, annual legislative planning, drafting and amendment of important laws and regulations, and to undertake to check up on laws and regulations, and other important legislative issues. Setting up the Provincial Legislation Expert Pool is an important measure adopted by the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress in strengthening democratic legislation, scientific legislation and legislation in accordance with the law. It is widely considered that experts will play an even more outstanding role in the legislation of the People’s Congress in the future.
Mr. Lu Wenge, Deputy Director of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People’s Congress, and others presented the Certificate of Member of Zhejiang Provincial Legislation Expert Pool to the experts.
