On May 8th, a launching ceremony of Belt and Road Language Institute & Chinese-Russian Cultural Exchange Program was held on campus. Led by Ningbo Educational Bureau and started by Foreign Languages College of Zhejiang Wanli University, the institute aimed for the implementation of the policy “To establish the economic belt along the silk road and the 21st century marine silk road”, for the development of “16+1” economic and trade cooperation model district, and for Ningbo enterprises’ joining into Belt and Road construction.
Attending the ceremony were Deputy Inspector Zhou Yongquan of Ningbo Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, Vice President Lv Jie of Zhejiang Wanli Educational Corporation, Vice President Weng Qidong of China Grand Enterprise, Chief Talent Officer of MINTH Limited Corporation, Vice President of NINGBO HOOYA Limited Corporation, Secretary General of Ningbo Cross-border E-commerce Association, teachers and students of the Jaroslav State University, and our school officials including President Ying Min, Vice President Ma Jianrong, and Secretary General Wang Fuyin. Professor Mo Lili, Dean of Foreign Languages College and Central &Eastern European Educational Institute hosted the ceremony.
President Ying made a speech on behalf of Zhejiang Wanli University and said that “the Belt and Road Strategy” was a significant strategic deployment in China’s Opening-up process. He praised the Foreign Languages College for being the pioneer in the Belt and Road construction. He said with the arduous efforts of the faculty and students in our university, this institute would surely bring our university more opportunities and more achievements in cultivating language talents, serving economic and trade cooperation, and international communication. The representatives of the enterprises also delivered speeches on the ceremony. Zhou Yongquan said he had confidence in the institute for the Czech Language Program of the Foreign Languages College and its solid foundation of in international cooperation. Lv Jie believed that the institute would provide more and more talents for the economic development of Ningbo and even the Yangtze River Delta region.
The ceremony came to a climax when President Ying and Professor Mo officially declared the launching of the Belt and Road Language Institute and Vice President Ma and Party Secretary Xu Guojun announced the opening of Russian Cultural Center. At the end of the ceremony, Cooperation Agreements were also signed between our university and MINTH Limited Corporation and China Grand Enterprise.
