Wanli Students Score High in ACM-ICPC International Collegiate Programming Competition

Recently, Beijing University saw the opening of the Asian District Contest of the 43rd ACM-ICPC International Collegiate Programming Competition. Over 191 teams (including nine Star Teams of Beijing University and Computing Client) from 133 universities and colleges including Qinghua University, Beijing University and Hong Kong University of Science and Technology arrived at Beijing and took part in the contest.

Directed by teachers of the College of Electronics and Computing Science, the ACM team of Wanli “Excalibur” consisted of—Yu wenhan, Lai binxin, and Xu hangchao, three students from the major of computing science—finally solved three problems two minutes before the end of the competition. They ranked 97 among the 189 qualified teams and won a bronze medal in the competition, which was another one after the round in Qingdao.

Being the best of its kind, ACM-ICPC International Collegiate Programming Competition demanded the contestants’ initiative, team spirit, reasoning ability, good cooperation and strategy making ability. Not only a good chance to promote academic communication and friendship, the competition is but also an opportunity for college students to enhance their problem solution and programming ability
