From February 13th to 14th, all teaching staff of our university received online training of remote teaching and learning strategies on the platform of Ding Talk. Organized by Teacher Development Center, Educational Administrative Office and The Center of Document and Information, this training activity aimed at implementing the policy of “teaching and learning during school closure” by means of combining the information technology and educational instructions to make preparations for teaching affairs during school closure caused by the covid-19.
This training was conducted via live online classes because of the pandemics. The teachers of our university learned three live lectures—“How to deal with online instruction during special period”, “Problems on Moodle class” and “The application of online teaching aids” delivered respectively by Director Yang yapping from Educational Administrative Office, Dean Chen Zhongwei and Mr. Xu Xiaohui from Information Center. From the three lectures, teachers of our university knew the teaching requirements during lockdown period and acquired the knowledge of how to choose online teaching platform and how to instruct students online.
This online training program attracted almost every teacher’s attention when they watched the lectures with their PCs and cell phones. Each class received nearly over 300 audiences who actively interacted with the lecturers by asking questions and providing suggestions. After the training, teachers could be more familiar with online teaching and learning and so their online teaching could be more successfully conducted. This online training program was approved and highly praised by the teachers of our university.
