Recently four new majors—Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain Engineering, Food Nutrition and Health, and “Art and Science” — have been set up in our university. After the three new majors of “Internet Security”, “Asset Evaluation” and “Supply Chain Management” set up last year, these four successive majors are supposed to recruit students in the coming autumn. Among them, “Art and Science” is intended to provide students with “2+2” double degree program in the Sino-German Institute of Zhejiang Wanli University and the Brand University of Applied Science in Germany.
In recent years, Ministry of Education has been urging the founding of those majors that are close to economic development, Four Major Constructions, the development of the Yangtze River Delta, especially the Eight Billion Industries, Digital Economy, Life Health and the development of new technology, new industry, and new businesses. As a result, these four new majors have been founded after a series of preparational work including detailed research and substantiation in response to the national development strategies and the talent cultivation strategies for local economy. Therefore, the subject structures are to be further optimized to meet the demand of first-rank major construction and featured talent cultivation orientation.
