On the morning of January 19, the award ceremony for Ningbo’s “Honorary Citizen” and “Camellia Award” was held at the Ningbo Urban Exhibition Center. Professor Natalia Kasatkina of the College of Foreign Languages at our university was honored with the Camellia Award, with Tang Feifan, Deputy Secretary of the CPC Ningbo Municipal Committee and Mayor of Ningbo, presenting her with the certificate.
Professor Natalia Kasatkina holds dual doctoral degrees from the University of Arizona (USA) and Yaroslavl State Pedagogical University (Russia). She has served as a Distinguished Professor at our university since 2023. With extensive experience in both academic research and international exchange, Professor Kasatkina has made remarkable contributions since joining ZWU. She has published several academic monographs and numerous scholarly articles, and has received more than ten honors at the national, municipal, and university levels.
In addition, she has taken the lead in organizing a range of academic exchange activities, including the International Youth Forum, the China-Russia University Student Academic Forum, and a series of Foreign Language Salons, building diverse platforms for international academic dialogue and cooperation in Ningbo.
Established in 1995, the Camellia Award is an important honor created by the Ningbo Municipal Government to recognize foreign experts who have made outstanding contributions to the city’s economic development and social progress. Professor Kasatkina’s recognition not only highlights her personal achievements, but also reflects strong acknowledgment of ZWU’s long-standing efforts to support international talents in integrating into Ningbo and contributing to local development.
Looking ahead, ZWU will continue to serve as a bridge for international exchange and cooperation, further strengthening collaboration with global universities, research institutions, and high-level talents, and contributing to Ningbo’s development as a more influential and attractive international city.
