The First Two Postdoctors Jointly Trained by Ninghai Institute and Ocean University of China Successfully Finished their Researches

On the morning of August 16th, the thesis defense meeting of the first two postdoctors jointly trained by Ninghai Research Institute and Ocean University of China were held in Ninghai. The meeting was conducted both online and offline, and was chaired by You Zhongjie, a researcher from Ningbo Ocean and Aquatic Society and the leader of the defense team.

The experts of the defense team included Academician Bao Zhenmin and Professor Wang Shi of Ocean University of China who were the co-supervisor of two postdoctors, researcher Lin Zhihua and researcher Bao Yongbo of Ninghai Research Institute, researcher Li Chenghua of Ningbo University, director Guo Tao and section chief Yu Dan of the Technical Department of Ningbo Municipal Bureau of Human Resources and Social Security, deputy director Ye Liangcai of Ninghai County Human Resources and Social Security Bureau, director Yu Dan, professor Ge Chutian, professor Xue Qinggang and professor Dong Yinghui of Personnel Department of Zhejiang Wanli University. All postdoctors and related staff of Ninghai Institute attended the meeting. At the meeting, Dr.Liu Youli and Dr.Liu Hongxing made speeches respectively on their research topics “Research on the Antioxidant Trait Index System and Genetic Basis in Oyster” and “On the Diversity of Symbiotic Sulfur-Oxidizing Bacteria in Tegillarca Granosa”. They made comprehensive and detailed reports to the defense team about the industrial background, research contents and technical methods, important achievements and industrial application prospects. They also answered the questions raised by the experts concerning their researches and the future work plans.

After comprehensive and careful evaluation, members of the defense team believed that Dr Liu Youli and Liu Hongxing have completed their postdoctoral researches and studies with active academic mind and hardworking. The experts all agreed that the two doctors could leave the postdoctoral station since they have already changed their roles from students to independent researchers by independently designing scientific tasks and conducting scientific researches. During his work at the station, Dr. Liu Youli won one project funded by Zhejiang Provincial Natural Science Foundation, and jointly published five SCI papers (two of which as the first author). Dr. Liu Hongxing has received one project funded by China Postdoctoral Foundation, and co-published four SCI papers (three of which as the first author). Both of them successfully left the station with excellent scientific fruits and intended to work in the relevant research teams for further in-depth researches.
