On June 21, the Ceremony of Camellia Prize of 2005 was held by Ningbo city government in Nanyuan Hotel, to award foreign experts who had made great contributions to the reform and development of Ningbo over the past year. Of the 20 experts awarded, six got the Camellia Prize and 14 got the Camellia Souvenir Prize. John McCarthy, an Irish teacher in the Foreign Languages College of Wanli University was awarded the Camellia Prize for his industrious work and enormous contribution to Wanli University.
Present at the ceremony were the functionaries of the city authorities such as Foreign Affairs Bureau, Bureau of International Business and Economics, the City Police Office, the Personnel Bureau and Wu hemin, the Deputy Mayor of Ningbo who congratulated and granted diplomas and certificates to prize winners on behalf of the city government.
