Teachers of Our University Won the First Prize in Zhejiang Division of National College Foreign Language Teaching Competition

Recently, the twelfth “Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press Cup” National College Foreign Language Teaching Competition Zhejiang International Studies University ended successfully in Zhejiang International Studies University. Li Qiaoling and Zhang Fan, two lecturers from Foreign Languages College of Zhejiang Wanli University, won the first and third prize respectively in Business English Major and English Major Group.

In the second round of the competition, participants were supposed to refine their courses according to the features of the subject, and fully demonstrate their excellent expertise in the 20-minute classroom teaching. The final round was even more competitive. Contestants were required to present innovative teaching skills and styles through a 10-minute improvisation lecture and a 5-minute free question and answer session. The two teachers who participated in the competition for the first time delivered a wonderful presentation about teaching with their teaching experience. Finally, they won the unanimous praise of the professional judges and won the 3rd place in the Business English group and the 11th place in the English major group.

It is reported that the National College Foreign Language Teaching Competition is one of the largest and highest level that covers most of the universities in China so far. In this competition, the two teachers’ achievement reflects the teaching concept of “promoting teaching through competition, promoting learning through competition, and integrating teaching through competition” that our school has been adhering to for many years. Our school will take this competition as an opportunity to build a teaching-skill exchange platform for foreign language teachers, continue to promote the construction and development of foreign language teachers, deepen the integration of ideological and political curriculum and foreign language education, effectively improve the quality of foreign language education and teaching level, and contribute to the national training of foreign language students in the new era.
