Vice President Qian of Zhejiang Wanli University Attended the Seventh Sino-German Forum

From September 11th to 12th , the seventh Sino-German Forum was held in Hang Zhou, where over one hundred universities’ presidents, experts and scholars, from the two countries gathered together with more than three hundred businessmen to discuss about higher education reform. Dr. Ou Zhen, Germany’s consul general in Shang Hai attended the opening and delivered a speech. Vice President Qian Guoying of Zhejiang Wanli University also joined the forum with other school staffs.

Hosted by Zhejiang University of Science and Technology and directed by Cooperation and Communication Department of Ministry of Education, Education Department of Zhejiang Province, and the Union of Applied Universities (Institutes), this forum served as a higher-level dialogue and communication platform of humanity and has been respectively held by the two countries every other year since 2007.

The forum consists of theme report and several parallel branch forums, one of which—Cultivating Applied Talents through Combination of Industry and Education—was hosted by our vice president Qian. Deputy Dean Zhang Yiping of Sino-German Institute of Design and Communication made a speech of “New Attempts of Cultivating High-level Applied Talents”. He introduced the collaborative school-running of our university and Hochschule für Design und Kommunikation - University of Applied Sciences, and Hamburg campus of Zhejiang Wanli University. On the forum, experts, scholars and businesspeople discussed around the topic of “Industry and Education Combination, Talent Cultivation, and Quality Promotion” and shared their explorations and experiences with one another.
