The First Offline Job Recruitment Fair Since the Pandemic on Campus

“This job fair is quite helpful because it offers many opportunities to the students who find it hard to look for a good job under the impact of the pandemic.” Mao Zihan, a graduate of Financial Management said so on June 3rd afternoon when he signed a contract with Gintian Copper Company. Being the first job recruitment fair after the covid-19 pandemic, this job fair attracted more than 40 enterprises that brought with them over 300 jobs including marketing, management, financing, servicing and technique. Over 400 undergraduates went to the job fair and nearly 40 of them signed contracts with the companies.

 “Hello, please show me your health QR code.” “Your body temperature is 36.3℃, please enter the fair this way.” All the job hunters were measured the body temperature and showed their health QR code according to the pandemic requirements. Besides, the students were only allowed to enter the place in batches to ensure their healthiness. Gan Wudong, Deputy Party Secretary of Education Department of Zhejiang Province, came to inspect the job fair with Party Secretary Zhu Da from Ningbo Education Bureau, President Ying Min and Party Secretary Jiang Jianjun from Zhejiang Wanli University. Mr. Gan talked to the students and the employers about the recruitment. He asked the employers about the job requirements and salaries. He also encouraged the students to be brave and bold.

On this job fair the employers enthusiastically communicated with our students. They introduced the conditions of their enterprises and invited our students to apply for jobs in their companies. “Wanli graduates’ excellent performance and internship experience left me deep impression. Many students can meet the requirements of those positions,”Liu Zhonghuan, HR of Ningbo Medicalsystem Biotechnology Co., Ltd said so. “Since the covid-19 pandemic happened, the employment and business start-up services have been under way.” Party Secretary Sun Qi of Business College said that the college leaders and teachers have had meetings discussing how to help students of key areas, how to help graduates to look for jobs in Ningbo, and how to establish safe and secure working environment. In addition, alumni resources were to be exploited to build employment platform and widen job-hunting channels.
