Recently, the Education Department of Zhejiang Province released the list of Zhejiang International Students’ National Education Master Workshops. And the ZWU International Students’ National Education Master Workshop, led by the Foreign Languages College and participated by the Sino-German School of Design and Communication, the International College, and the International Affairs Office, passed the acceptance inspection and was officially approved as Zhejiang International Students’ National Education Master Workshop.

ZWU was approved as a construction unit of Zhejiang International Students’ National Education Master Workshop in July, 2022. Since its approval, the workshop has been adhering to the guidance of Xi Jinping’s Thought of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era, aiming to cultivate high-quality international students who can “understand China, befriend China and love China”, and bringing the advantages of ZWU’s internationalized schooling into full play. Meanwhile, the workshop has always been dedicated to building a three-dimensional advanced model of “meeting China, experiencing China and popularizingChina”, with great efforts to strengthen the construction of teaching staff, build a new model of education on China’s national conditions, set up a new platform for cultural experience, and improve the quality assurancesystem. With remarkable achievements made in all aspects, the workshop has become an important platform for our school to improve the quality of education for international students, enable them to gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture, strengthen their emotional connection with China, promote China’s image, and tell China’ stories well.

Up to now, the worshop has established 5 educational practice bases, set up 7 research centers, delivered a series of lectures on China’s national conditions and organized 40 culture experiencing activities. Besides, it has offered 3 online courses, constructed 1 provincial first-class undergraduate internationalized course and 9school-level internationalized courses, and established 1 provincial-level project of ideological and political education in the curriculum and 5 school-level projects of ideological and political education in the curriculum.

To tell the stories of China’s civilization well and promote cultural exchanges and mutual learning, the workshop will continue to innovate its work ideas, refine its work initiatives, and further play its significant role in boosting the internationalization of ZWU. Additionally, combined with schooling characteristics and regional advantages, the workshop will build an excellent teaching team for education on China’s national conditions and establish itself as a humanistic exchange base that can fully embody the characteristics of Zhejiang province, represent China’s image, and exert greater international influence, thus becoming a shining window for “the world to see Zhejiang”.
