From December 25 to 27, the finals and award ceremony of the “BOC Cup” 15th Zhejiang Province College Students’ Career Planning Competition were held at the Zhejiang Technical Institute of Economics. The ZWU team achieved outstanding results, winning 1 silver medal, 3 bronze medals, and 7 excellence awards, marking the best performance for our school since the career planning competition was incorporated into the provincial “three major competitions”.
Since its launch in October 2024, the competition has attracted a total of 506,600 students from across the province. After a selection and recommendation process at the university level, 869 contestants from 105 universities advanced to the provincial semi-finals. Following evaluations by a panel of experts, 214 contestants from 65 universities qualified for the provincial finals. Zhou Zebin, a contestant from the School of Information and Intelligent Engineering at ZWU, won the silver medal in the finals with his clear career path and innovative planning scheme. “This competition has strengthened my determination regarding my career direction and made me realize the importance of career planning,” Zhou Zebin remarked.
Additionally, three other students—Lan Ziyue from the Business School, Zheng Yinuo from the School of Information and Intelligent Engineering, and Shi Chenyun from the Sino-German Brand Studies Department—won bronze medals. Seven other students received excellence awards: Shi Qing from the Business School, Wu Haitao from the School of Logistics and E-commerce, Cha Yufei from the Law School, Jin Xiaoyu from the School of Culture and Communication, Ni Jiajun and Ye Yichen from the Faculty of Design, Art and Architecture, and Tang Jie from the School of Information and Intelligent Engineering.
The theme of this year’s competition was “Building Dreams in Youth, Planning for a Future Career”, and it is part of the Zhejiang Province College Students’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition. Since receiving the competition notification, ZWU has organized teachers and students to actively participate in various training sessions, invited experts from both inside and outside the school to deliver three lectures for guidance, and conducted two pre-competition training sessions. Since registration for the school competition began on November 5, secondary schools and colleges have actively mobilized, resulting in a total of 6,639 participants, which accounts for 30% of the entire enrollment. Among them, 5,697 students participated in the growth track, while 942 students participated in the employment track.
ZWU has always placed great importance on student employment and views the career planning competition as a vital platform for career and employment guidance. The university fully leverages the positive impact of the competition to promote learning, teaching, and employment by organizing events that guide students in establishing a correct perspective on growth and career choices, as well as planning their academic and career development in a reasonable and scientific manner.
