Dr. Ge Chutian

Dr. Ge Chutian, a second-level professor and a Ph.D. supervisor, is currently serving as the Assistant to the President, the Dean of the College of Biology and Environment, the Director of the Key Research Institute for Animal Gender and Development, and the Director of the Ninghai Marine Biotechnology Research Institute at Zhejiang Wanli University. Additionally, he is a Council Member of the Animal Physiology and Biochemistry Branch of Chinese Association of Animal Science and Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Ge is recognized as a Distinguished Young Scholar of China, recipient of the NSFC Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, and a top-notch young talent in Zhejiang Province’s “Ten Thousand Talent Program”. He has been honored as one of China’s Top Ten Emerging Scientific Figures in 2018, and he has successively won the Award for Young Sci-tech Talent of Zhejiang Province, the May 1st Labor Medal of Zhejiang Province, and the Award for Advanced Teacher Ethics of Zhejiang Province. Additionally, Dr. Ge has been awarded the titles of Advanced Individual of Educating by Teaching, Managing and Serving of Zhejiang Province, Expert with Outstanding Contributions to Ningbo City, and Outstanding Communist Party Member of Ningbo City.

Dr. Ge specializes in the teaching, research, and promotion of aquaculture genetic breeding. He emphasizes the integration of basic research with national development strategy of seed industry, aiming to address fundamental challenges in the aquaculture industry. His research achievements have been published twice in the prestigious international journal Science, marking the first in the national aquaculture field. These publications have received high praise and citations from journals such as Science, Nature, and Nature Reviews Genetics, and have been incorporated into the textbooks of some countries. He has been honored with the First Prize of Harvest Award of the Ministry of Agriculture, the Second Prize of Zhejiang Natural Science Award, and the Second Prize of Zhejiang Science and Technology Progress Award.
