Zheng Ziwei is a foreign academician of both the Russian Academy of Engineering and the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences (the first dual academician independently cultivated in the field of IoT big data communication technology). He is also a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) in the United Kingdom, being the first in Ningbo. Prof. Zheng holds the position of a second-level professor and a Ph.D. supervisor (since April 1, 2005). He is recognized as a “Yongjiang Scholar” by the People’s Government of Ningbo (2007) and an Expert with Outstanding Contributions to Ningbo City (2011).

Prof. Zheng is the Director of the Digital Industry Research Institute at Zhejiang Wanli University, the Director of the Zhejiang Provincial Engineering Research Center for IoT Big Data Technology and Application, the Director of the Ningbo Engineering Research Center for IoT Big Data Technology and Application, and the Director of the Ningbo Collaborative Innovation Center for IoT Big Data Technology and Application. He is the leader for the national sci-tech major project “Next-Generation Broadband Wireless Mobile Communication Network Technology”, the head of the Zhejiang provincial top key discipline “Information and Communication Engineering”, and the leader of the project “Mobile Network Application Technology” (a project of Science and Technology Innovation Team of Ningbo City). Prof. Zheng is an expert in talent, project, and award assessment at the national and provincial levels. In addition, as a member of the IEEE ComSoc Radio Communications Committee (RCC), he also serves as a manuscript reviewer for IEEE journals.

Prof. Zheng has received various awards, including the National Science and Technology Progress Award (2nd prize), Zhejiang Provincial Science and Technology Award (2nd prize), and Ningbo Science and Technology Award (1st prize).
