In recent years, ZWU has undertaken more than 1,100 horizontal projects with the received fund amounted to nearly 200 million yuan, which has provided significant support for the development of agricultural breeding, digital economy, and cultural and creative industries (CCI). By undertaking horizontal projects, ZWU has created many agriculture-related research brands featuring “A Turtle”, “A Shell”, “A Vegetable”, and “A Bunch of Grapes”, which have generated economic benefits of more than 8 billion yuan. 

Now, there are totally 22 teams of municipal and provincial-level sci-tech commissioners, 300 of whom have been sent to serve more than 40 towns and 100 villages, promoting more than 150 new technologies and introducing more than 30 new varieties of hard clam, razor clam, grape, azalea, etc. Oriented to the strategies of “Rural Revitalization and Sci-Tech Strengthening Ningbo”, these commissioners have trained in total more than 110,000 practitioners in agricultural machinery operations, food safety management, agricultural production and management, e-commerce live streaming, and social work. 37 commissioners have been awarded the honorary title of “Outstanding Sci-Tech Commissioners” at national, provincial, or municipal levels, while ZWU has been granted the titles of “National Sci-Tech Commissioner Entrepreneurship Training Base” and “Advanced Unit of Provincial Sci-Tech Commissioner Work”.
